Fanpage Trends UK December 2015

What was happening last month on Facebook? Without much surprise, many of the top posts revolved around Christmas and the holiday season. However, the most successful Fanpage post this December was about politics. Jeremy Corbyn’s post about the British Parliament’s decision to launch airstrikes in Syria, where he denounced David Cameron’s position on the decision and lamented the inevitable harm it would cause, was the most successful post this month. On a lighter note, the second best post actually came from a user posting on a Fanpage. Jason Snelling posted a heartfelt message on John Lewis’ page concerning their decision to allow their employees to not have to work on boxing day. Coming in third was Aldi UK, warning their customers of a fake Aldi voucher circulating around the web.

Twitter Trends UK December 2015

As with most other months, music was quite the heavy force on Twitter this December. But this month, One Direction completely dominated to tweeting rankings, as the group and it’s members filled out the top spots. The best performing tweet was made by Harry Styles, thanking his followers for all the things they’ve done together. This was followed by Louis Tomlinson’s tweet, communicating the same message but with different words. And in third, former One Direction member Zayn Malik tweeted a video where he discussed having a nose in a very difficult to understand video. Even without former members, One Direction clearly knows how to get the most from Twitter.

The biggest profiles this month were Harry Styles, One Direction, and Adele.

The fastest growing pages belonged to One Direction, Zayn Malik, and Adele, and the most engaging profiles were Liam Payne, One Direction, and, once again, Harry Styles. All in all, little has changed since last month. With One Direction going strong, it seems like it will stay that way for quite some time.
